From the
President’s Desk:
It is indeed an
honor to be elected to be the president of AADE National Board of
Director once again. I thank you for your support and confidence.
A healthy thank
you must also be given to the previous administration that carried
on the goals, objectives and mission of AADE.
Barry
Petroleum's Lonnie Kerley did a superb
performance as president of projecting the nine AADE chapters
forward. Under this tutelage the technical programs, educational
initiatives and membership growth never slowed. That
is AADE's mission
and Mr. Kerley pushed it forward. Again,
THANK YOU from the
AADE members and the AADE staff.
Furthermore,
big thanks must be given to our Secretary Jim Miller and to our
Treasurer Carleen Naumann. Both served tirelessly for the BOD
operations.
The National
BOD is taking an increasing role in promoting and funding the AADE
Knowledge Box and Expanding Energy Education (E3)
program. Plans are currently being made to fund the training of 25
facilitators at the Offshore Energy Center in Galveston. The
facilitators will in turn go out and train teachers to use the
Knowledge Box and E3 teaching aids. It is easy to see
that this project is embarking on an exponential growth pattern and
I expect you are witnessing a marvelous teaching tool being born.
I am also very
proud of the recent growth of AADE chapter sponsored Student
Sections. AADE now has a presence on 10 different college and
university campuses with a total of about 400 student AADE members.
This is a very important step in getting young upcoming
professionals familiar with and involved in the AADE Chapters as
well as growing the talent pool from which to select future board
member leaders.
At our Spring
2006 AADE Houston Chapter technical conference, nine AADE members
were nominated and inducted into the newly created AADE Hall of Fame
in recognition for their outstanding contributions to the drilling
industry. They are Martin E. Chenevert, Billy G. Chesser, George R.
“Doc” Gray, Tommy C. Mondshine, Leon H. Robinson, Walter F. Rogers,
Jay P. Simpson and Don J. Weintritt. Congratulations gentlemen.
The AADE Hall
of Fame will be administrated by the National Board of Directors and
all chapters are encouraged to submit nominees from their local
area.
Please welcome
two new members to the National Board, Secretary Michael Marquez
and Treasurer Duane Halverson.
Both are veteran members of AADE and will contribute significantly
to our operation.
I am
disappointed to announce the discontinuance of the AADE Drilling
Magazine as our official publication. I want to thank Hart Energy
Publications for their past support and publication of the magazine
for the past several years.
Because of the
discontinuance of Drilling Magazine, future National Board
newsletters will be published and distributed via e-mail. That is
just one more reason for each chapter to have a complete and
accurate e-mail list of their members.
Your
President,
Andy Ellis |
