Speaker: Steve Tkach
Bio: Steve Graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor’s in Petroleum Engineering in 2002. After graduation, he relocated to the New Orleans area and began working for Chevron in the Gulf of Mexico. Over the next 18 years he would work as a drill site representative and drilling engineer on a variety of rig types for Chevron from land rigs to deepwater drill ships. He served as a Managed Pressure drilling and underbalanced drilling specialist throughout that time with Chevron. In 2014, he became a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Louisiana and currently is a member of the NCEES exam writing committee. In 2020 he began working for Boots & Coots as a Sr. Well Control Engineer and is currently a member of the global emergency response team. In addition to responding to blowouts and major well control events, he works as a specialist in the remediation of a variety of well integrity issues around the world, including, well re-heading, milling and fishing of plugs in surface wellheads, casing remediation, critical P&As, and annulus pressure build-up

Bio: Mike is a 1990 graduate of USL (now UL) with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Mike is the CEO of his third-generation family workover business, Moncla Companies, LLC. He is a member of the LAGCOE board, a member of the Board at Lourdes Hospital, and serves as Chairman on the Foundation Board for St. Thomas More Catholic High School in Lafayette.
