Abstract: How to Interpret the Bond Log: Common Misconceptions
Interpreting bond logs can be confusing and difficult. For this reason, many professionals do not trust them. Others do not understand them, and rely on wireline advisors to determine cement quality for zonal isolation. This presentation discusses a simple method for interpreting bond logs sector logs, and ultrasonic logs, from a drilling and cementing perspective, while illustrating the most common ways we mis-interpret the CBL, radial logs, sector logs, and ultrasonic logs. In addition, new cement evaluation technologies are presented.
